Wednesday Night Dinners

Dinner on Wednesday nights is prepared by volunteers and served to members who are at church attending various programs such as choir rehearsal, youth group, Christian education, or just to enjoy the fellowship.

Newcomers

Several times during the year, vestry members and committee leaders host a dinner to welcome newcomers to the Holy Cross family. This gives the newcomers the opportunity to find out more about the programs and activities of the church, and welcomes them to the parish.

Happening

Holy Cross has been active in Happening, serving as host parish to Happening gatherings of the senior youth of the Diocese since its inception.

Parish Library

Coordinated by our volunteer librarian, Monica Barnard, the church library is fully stocked with an ample supply of books, video and audio tapes on subjects of interest to all ages.

Holy Cross Endowment Trust

Established in December 1999, the Trust is managed by five trustees, each appointed by the vestry to serve a five year term. The trustees meet quarterly. Several parishioners have made commitments to include the Trust in their estate plan.

Outreach

We are involved in our community through a number of outreach projects. Among them are Manna Food Bank, Loaves & Fishes Soup Kitchen, Meals on Wheels, and the Angel Tree Christmas project. Holy Cross is a member of an ecumenical group supporting Habitat for Humanity, and many of our parishioners have wielded a hammer or saw in support of this worthy cause.

National Church Outreach ministries such as the United Thank Offering and the Presiding Bishop’s Fund are encouraged, with two annual UTO “in gatherings” regularly celebrated. A Holy Cross parishioner serves as the Diocesan coordinator and represented the Diocese at the National Convention in June 2006. The Annual Diocesan Medical Missions to Guatemala were originally a Holy Cross program and now attract people from several dioceses and other denominations.

Children’s Learning Center (CLC)

Holy Cross leases four classrooms of the education wing to a privately operated preschool learning center. The Children’s Learning Center (CLC) has a total of 35 children, ranging in ages from infants to preschoolers. The CLC is open year round from 7:30 AM until 6:00 PM. CLC can be reached at 850-476-0360.
