Holy Cross Episcopal Church is a member of the Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast (CCG) which ranges from Panama City (FL) on the east to Mobile (AL) on the west and Greenville (AL) to the north. We are also a part of the greater Episcopal Church of the United States (ECUSA). ECUSA is a member of the world-wide Anglican Communion. The Episcopal Church is considered both Catholic and Protestant and is often seen as the reformation's "bridge" Church between Catholicism and Protestantism. We believe that Scripture contains all things necessary to salvation and the faith is informed by scripture, tradition, and reason. We believe that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Saviour and instituted the two Biblical Sacraments of Holy Communion and Baptism. We also believe that there are five Sacramental Rites: Ordination, Unction (healing), Confession, Marriage, and Confirmation. Our doctrine states that the Nicene and Apostles creeds are sufficient statements of the beliefs of a practicing Christian. As Episcopalians, we are open to the continued revelation of God's will through the Holy Spirit. We invite you to attend a service at Holy Cross Episcopal Church where all baptized Christians are welcome to receive Holy Communion. Those not yet baptized are welcome to come to the altar, too, and receive the joy of a blessing.
